When Wood St Coffee approached JD Ecommerce, they were looking for a revamp of their website and a migration from Squarespace to Shopify. They needed a more flexible platform for ecommerce growth, an improved user experience, especially for subscriptions, and seamless migration of existing customer data, subscriptions, and integrations.
At JD Ecommerce, we believe that the first step to a successful project is to fully immerse ourselves in the client’s brand. That’s why we started with a full-scale audit of Wood St Coffee’s website and sampled significant quantities of their coffee. This gave us a comprehensive understanding of their product, brand and their customers’ needs.
Our all-encompassing website audit involved reviewing existing functionality, design, and integrations, analysing SEO performance and traffic, and conducting a customer touchpoint audit and customer data and existing CRM analysis. We then presented our findings to the client, outlining the project, key deliverables, and projected timelines. As always, we welcomed feedback from the client to ensure that the project was delivered to the highest possible standard.

“Working with JD Ecommerce was an exceptional experience. They left no stone unturned and their attention to detail was remarkable. Their support throughout the project was invaluable and made the process seamless for us. We couldn’t be happier with the final outcome.”
Building on Wood St Coffee’s excellent branding, we took time to find the right design and fit for their new website. Using pre-constructed themes for cost and time efficiency, we added our own technical and design know-how to create a site that’s clean, simple, yet highly effective. We’re super proud of how the site looks and feels.
One challenge we faced during the migration was the native subscription platform in Squarespace, which is quite limited and tricky to migrate to another platform. However, we ensured that all existing subscriptions were plumbed into Wood St Coffee’s new Shopify site via ReCharge subscriptions. On go-live date, there was a seamless transition for customers. The new subscription management tool is now considerably more flexible, allowing customers and Wood St Coffee to adapt subscriptions to their needs with ease.
We also made sure to retain Wood St Coffee’s email marketing database to help them build on it in the future through Shopify. We completed an audit to review customer data and opt-ins and ensured that the relevant applications were integrated during the switchover, resulting in a positive transition.
At JD Ecommerce, we’re dedicated to providing comprehensive services that cover everything from audits and assessments to custom design and development. We’re proud to have helped Wood St Coffee migrate to Shopify and improve their online experience, and we’d love to help your business do the same.
